ગોઠવણ એટલે શું? (કાજલ ઓઝા વૈદ્ય)

આજે મને પહેલીવાર સમજાયું કે ગોઠવણ એટલે શું ?

રંગરોગાન વગરના સંબંધનો ચહેરો

પહેલીવાર ધોધમાર અજવાળામાં

આંખ સામે ખૂલી ગયો !

તું… જાણે સામે કિનારે,

અને, તારી આસપાસ નાચતી

નિર્વસ્ત્ર હકીકતોની ભૂતાવળ…

… આ કિનારે એકલી-અટૂલી હું.

મારા ખિસ્સામાં, મારી અપેક્ષાઓ

અધિકારોનું ચૂંથાયેલું લિસ્ટ…

કહેલા-ન કહેલા,

માની લીધેલા શબ્દોના, લીરેલીરા !

આંખમાં રેતી ને હોઠ પર ઝાંઝવા,

આપણી વચ્ચેના પુલને

ફૂરચેફૂરચા થઈ ઉડી જતો જોઈ રહ્યા છીએ

આપણે બંને – અસહાય !

An Arrangement (Kajal Oza Vaidya)

For the first time I came to know what an arrangement means... 

The face of an uncolored relationship 

bared itself for the first time 

in an incessant illumination. 

You...as if standing on the opposite shore, 

encircled by the dancing ghosts of the naked facts... 

...All alone I am on this side of the shore... 

with a crumpled checklist of hopes and aspirations in my pocket 

with ruins and rubble of the words told, untold and believed ! 

Sand in the eyes and mirage on the lips... 

Both of us are watching helplessly

the bridge between you and me, being blown apart!
